St Andrews East Sands

This beach is located on the south side of the old harbour close to the East Sands Leisure Centre. It is a sandy beach with a path on the inland side. Due to the close proximity to the harbour and sailing club there are a lot of water sports, including surfing and sailing, in this area. There are plenty of activities for the children including some fascinating rock pools at the south end of the beach. The Kinkell Braes Caravan Site is only 5 minutes away. Lifeguards patrol the beach during the peak season, 4th July - 31st August.

Directions

From the centre of St Andrews take the Crail Road south. Opposite the St Andrews Memorial Hospital, a road to the left takes you down to the harbour and the beach.

Had an enjoyable day at St Andrews. Was delighted to see your award winning beach sign until I saw 7 dogs running on beach and leaving their unwanted mess behind. You wont keep your award for long if you allow this to continue.

East sands is excellent if you are up in the caravan park. As a lifeguard I think this beach is a very good size for families and tourists.
