Achmelvich Bay

This is a beautiful, natural, west coast bay with a large expanse of silver sands. It offers a quiet sheltered retreat. There is a caravan park close by and free parking is available. This is a good beach for canoeing, sailing and walking.

Directions

Achmelvich beach is on a minor road sign posted to Achmelvich. Take the B869 about 1/2 a mile from the village of Lochinver on the A 83.

visited this beach 2002 with our 3 children what a beautifull place we have had holidays to other countries but our children now adults still talk of our time here, we stayed in cottage in lochinver and visited this beach we plan to visit asap


Heavenly beach

Had our picnic in glorious (windy) sunshine here at the beginning of October. Walked along barefoot in the sea (brrrrr!) Was reliving a childhood holiday in the 60s. Every bit as beautiful as the coast of Crete. Deserves its accolade.
