Coldingham

Coldingham

Coldingham Sands is a sheltered sandy beach. The sand stretches for a kilometre within the bay with rocky shore at either end of the beach. It is situated within the St Abbs and Eyemouth Voluntary Marine Reserve and hermit crabs can be seen in the rock pools. Walking on the paths will provide you with views of the beach itself and the surrounding coastline. Coastal grassland on the beach supports flowers such as restharrow and butterflies such as the small copper. It is close to St Abbs village and harbour. At the nearby St Abbs Head nature reserve thousands of cliff nesting birds can be seen in Spring. Lifeguards patrol this beach at weekends in June, and seven days a week from 30th June - 8th September.

I recently led two Walks around Coldingham Sands. The location was lovely and the paths and scenery were great - a lovely location

Breathtaking when you start to walk down the path towards the beach, lovely picnic spot, very clean with golden sands and clear waters, you could be in some foreign destination when on the beach here well worth a visit.
